Dr. Hollins to Give Keynote at Lens of Equity 2025 Summit

Dr. Caprice Hollins will be the keynote speaker for the Lens of Equity Summit by Workforce Central. This event will take place on February 20th from 8-5pm at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center.
The 2025 Summit will focus on racial justice and equity, bringing together leaders, community members, and advocates to engage in critical conversations and actionable strategies for advancing equity across Pierce County.
Dr. Hollins' keynote will focus on social justice and addressing race relations in the 21st century and will provide a framework describing our role in creating a culture of belonging. For more information and to register, visit the Lens of Equity Summit website.
Dr. Hollins Joins Advisory Board for Advancing DEIB in Organizations Program at UW

Dr. Caprice Hollins has joined the Advisory Board of the University of Washington certificate in Advancing DEIB in Organizations program. This program is for DEIB practitioners, HR specialists and other professionals who are knowledgeable about DEIB work and engaged in efforts at their organization, either in formal roles or through informal work on committees, employee resource groups or other initiatives. The program aims to strengthen your skills and learn effective strategies to drive organizational change.
This 10-month course is online synchronous and starts on March 26, 2025. The next online information session will be held Thursday, Feb 13, 2025 at 12:00-1:00pm PT. Visit the program website to learn more and to register!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is January 20th. There are several events throughout the greater Seattle area to commemorate this day including:

The National Day of Racial Healing follows Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 21st this year and is observed annually on Tuesday. We will be adding this date on our Diversity Calendar. You can learn more about this day by visiting the W.K. Kellogg Foundation site as part of their Truth, Racial Healing Transformation efforts.
January 29th is Lunar New Year & Tết!

Lunar New Year is January 29th and is celebrated in multiple Asian countries including China, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and more! Tết is celebrated in Vietnam.
2025 is the year of the wood snake from the Chinese zodiac and is associated with wisdom, intuition, and renewal. Some of its characteristics include adaptability, patience, growth, and personal transformation.
