Facing Race National Conference
Nov 8 – Nov 10 all-day

Race Forward, publisher of Colorlines, is proud to announce that early-bird registration for our 2018 Facing Race National Conference is now open: use code EarlyBirdFR18 to register today!

Facing Race 2018 will be held November 8-10 at the Cobo Center in Detroit, MI. This is Race Forward’s ninth Facing Race conference, and the first to be held at a convention center after the record-breaking turnout in 2016.

As the largest conference for racial justice movement-making, Facing Race 2018 will serve as a unique, collaborative space for alliance-building, issue-framing, and advancing solutions during a critical moment in this nation’s history.

Last year, over 2,000 people joined Race Forward in Atlanta, GA for the sold-out conference in the days immediately following the presidential election to brainstorm ways to respond to the changing national landscape and leadership.

In addition to inspiring keynote speakers, film screenings, and networking opportunities, Facing Race will present over 80 panels and breakout sessions on a wide array of key issues with a focus on four important tracks: Arts, Media, and Culture; Organizing and Advocacy; Inclusive Democracy; and Racial Identities and Innovation.

Want to get involved with #FacingRace? Here are a few ways other ways to participate:

In reflection of Race Forward’s commitment to supporting locally-owned businesses and advancing the leadership of local communities, particularly communities of color and other historically disadvantaged communities, Facing Race will work with local organizers in Detroit to ensure that the 2018 conference adheres to the principles of Community Benefits Agreements.

Last year, tickets sold out quickly. Please take advantage of Early Bird Registration which will be open until February 1, 2018. Special group rates and limited scholarships are also available. Click here for more information.

We can’t wait to see you in Detroit!
